I have been in clinical psychological practice for twenty years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in AB Psychology from the University of the Philippines, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Ateneo De Manila. I am currently completing my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the De La Salle University.
As a Registered Psychologist, I do psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults. Since I am not a medical doctor, I do not prescribe medication as part of my treatment.
I work in the hospital setting part time, providing psychological services for adolescent outpatient clients. I have also been a clinical supervisor there for 5 years now. I have worked predominantly with Graduate MA level Psychology students and some PhD Clinical Psychology students who are completing their Internship. My work with peer supervision was gleaned largely from my experience working in a group setting before embarking on my own private practice.
Finally, I consult with schools and companies as needed for various topics needing specialized input from a Psychologist.
I am a member of the Psychological Association of the Philippines (Certified Specialist in Clinical Psychology), a board member of the Philippine Association for Child and Play Therapy, a Certified Practitioner of Reality Therapy/Choice Theory, and a Founding Member of the William Glasser Institute of the Philippines.
In therapy, I use different modalities as I believe there is not a one-size-fits-all treatment; different concerns require different approaches. I am drawn to treatments which incorporate cognitive interventions like reality therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and also trauma informed interventions as needed.
At core, whether I am supervising, doing psychotherapy or consulting, my philosophy is person-centered. I wish to guide others through the process of trying to achieve the best version of themselves.
